Student-athletes face immense demands including daily practices, travel, private training, strength and conditioning, physical therapy, as well as completing school work. This often leaves little time for social interactions or time for oneself.  
As a former collegiate soccer player, I understand the unique pressures and challenges we face as competitive athletes. The demands and expectations to succeed, both from ourselves and others drive us to a breaking point. Helping my clients to manage and cope with these demands is my goal at Bridging the Gap Sports Counseling.

Hi, I’m Lynn

I'm a mental health counselor, performance consultant, and educator with a passion for supporting athletes in achieving their peak performance. With a focus on reducing performance anxiety, and building resilience and awareness, I create a safe and friendly environment where individuals can explore their thoughts and feelings. I combine evidence-based practices with a deep understanding of the unique pressures athletes face. I will empower you to develop resilience and mental strength, not only enhancing your performance on the field but also fostering a healthier mindset in your daily lives. My aim is to inspire athletes to bridge the gap between mental health and athletic excellence

I've spent almost 20 years advocating whole-person wellness, including treatment for mental and emotional health along with treatment for physical health.

My experience includes supporting children experiencing chronic illness and their caregivers, and I have a deep understanding of compassion fatigue and secondary trauma.  

As a mother of three and a former collegiate athlete, I know the toll the current sports environment has on athletes. I believe that by supporting athletes and providing a space for them to grow and learn about mental health skills, such as self-talk and confidence, they will have the opportunity to become the best athletes they can be.
